About Us

Project Play Colombia 2009 is the continuation of the project Pedagogy, Ultimate and Peace developed during the years of 2003-2007 in Bogota, Colombia. This project was the mission of FUFCO Foundation and for 5 years the work group did the following:

• Programs in special populations: low income communities, ex armed conflict fighters, industrial plant workers, among other projects.
• Programs in schools, colleges and universities in the city.
• Communitiy impact events along with the Major´s Office in massive scenarios.
• Free regional and national competition events with prizes, including the first under 18 hats and the first high school championship of the conuntry´s Ultimate history.
• Private marketing and communication by visual, television, radio and printed media.
• Creation of an Ultimate Club for national and international competition seeded in the top three positions of Colombian Ultimate clubs division for 5 consecutive years and with two international competitions. The club has acheived spirit of the game awards in Colombia and Venezuela.

Direct impact indicators Project Pedagogy, Ultimate and Peace 2003-2007:

• Formed players recreational level: more than 1000
• Formed players competitive level: more than 500
• School programs: 12
• College and university programs: 5
• Special populations attended: 7
• Competitive events developed: 2 nationals, 2 regionals, 2 high school championships, 10 under 18 mixed hats.
• Benefited clubs: 32

Additional direct impact indicators come from different sources. The work group implemented direct communication strategies like national and cable tv, radio, magazines, local and national newspapers and internet. The greatest impact was in events organized in conjuction with the Bogota Major´s Officce focused on massive outdoors recreation (Summer Festival 2004 and 2005). Gathering data from the Major´s Office, tv and radio channels, printed media and internet, the impact of the project reached more than 4´000.000 people in 5 years.
